Words, the water of the soul

Words are like water that flow from the mouth. Some are cool and refreshing, others are hot and seem to scorch for a time, still others are salty and bitter they sting and repulse. Some come fast and hard, flowing with reckless abandon, some trickle out so quietly they are almost unnoticed.

Where the water flows the ground gives way. It cuts a path through dirt and rock feeding all life that it passes, until ultimately it finds its resting place. As it goes it may pool or combine with other rivers and streams. It may completely be absorbed and travel to places unseen.

So, to do our words travel, flowing out of our mouths. Able to cut and shape the foundation of those around. Able to feed and refresh or scorch and burn, perhaps to shrivel and shrink in their salty brine. They may flow by mostly unnoticed at times. They may pool in the mind of those who are listening. They may be absorbed flowing deep into a person.

Let us pay attention to the words we speak, to how our stream flows and where it leaks. Let the reservoir of our mind, heart and soul run deep and feed gratitude to all those that we meet. Let us realize that all the words we hear; shift our foundation, our ground, and all we hold dear. Drink in the refreshing and reject the bitter, allow that which boils to cool.

Don’t focus on the words you’ve already said, the spring, the mouth of the well should be your focus instead. Concentrate most on the waters source and allow what flows forth to run its course.

All words, like water, just want to find a home, a resting place inside someone so they will be known. Choose wisely the words said by others that you choose to keep. Choose wisely the words that you choose to speak.

Keep smiling, you’re worth it!

Always Yours
