This is how love works, love that endures uncertainty, that doesn’t break under the pressures of society and the temptations of life. Love isn’t demands and expectations, it isn’t the easy fun days where the sun is shining, and a warm breeze is on your back. Love is making the choice, building the foundation. Love is knowing the worth of another person and choosing them. Choosing to open up to them, to share, to relax and to trust. Love is allowing yourself to be chosen, it is putting your faith in another, allowing yourself to extend outside your own body, mind and soul, to let them carry a part of you always and know that you carry a part of them.

It isn’t an ‘I do’ at a wedding, and it isn’t the person at the bar who is available in the moment. Love is the person who chooses always over right now or when it’s convenient. Love is the confidence, even in silence that someone out there has your back, no matter what. Love is a choice that happens in every breath, in every thought. It isn’t an obsession, it’s an action, a way of being. It can be lonely sometimes; it won’t always be full of joy. There are times it may be hard and painful, and times it will feel like nothing else in the world matters. Love is dynamic and ever changing.
